Martha Canby

Martha Canby was born in 1836 and married Elliston Perot Morris in 1861.  They had four children, although only their two oldest, Marriott C. Morris and Elizabeth Canby Morris, survived into adulthood.  Martha kept a close eye on the family’s finances and the management of the various Morris family residences.  She also shared her son Marriott’s interest in photography and took photographs of her family.
