Samuel Buckley Morris

Samuel Buckley Morris was born in 1791 and married Hannah Perot in 1825.  After his wife’s sudden death, Samuel left his career as a merchant to care for his four young children.  He moved his family to his father-in-law’s house in Germantown, later known as the Deshler-Morris house.  Samuel actively contributed to the Germantown community, including the founding of the Savings Fund of Germantown with his own money.
